Dartmoor Rune Lore – A Futhark Journey

This collection of images dedicated to the runes and have been created for two fold reasons. One they are an expression of and aid for me during my personal futhark journey on Dartmoor. The second and result of my journey they will become part of a rune oracle deck co-created between me and my friend (and guide through the runes) Duncan White.

Both Duncan and I have a deep connection to the magical and ancient landscape of Dartmoor where we both learned many lessons both practical and magical. We met a couple of years before Covid and it was with Duncan I went on my first Futhark journey on the moor. Ever since that profound experience the runes and the land have been inseparable to me, and on Lionsgate 2024 we decided to see if we could bring this interwoven magick of rune lore and land magick to others. So the Dartmoor Rune Lore Oracle was conceived.

I embarked on the journey through the three Aetts just after Samhain 2024 and each month I hold the energy of the rune, visit spaces and places on the moor where the energy of the rune is strongest and rings clearest, then I create the images from those experiences. All along Duncan is there crafting the words, walking with me, talking me through concepts and ideas, as well as helping me to unlock hidden aspects of rune lore.

Together we hope to have a card deck full of magical runes, deities, and land spirits to inspire and aid others to deeper knowledge of themselves and the natural world around all of us.

My Journey will be complete Samhain 2026.
