Uruz

All over Dartmoor cattle and other big herbivores roam pretty much freely, and often when hiking on the moor you will find yourselves following the rutted, meandering tracks made by these grazers, just as humans would have done back in days of mega fauna like the Aurochs of old. These tracks can help as well as hinder our passage across the landscape and on these tracks I feel the power and strength of Uruz clearly.
The place on the moor where Duncan suggested may help me connect with Uruz was Hound Tor and as soon as I sat down in a small hut circle at the base of the tor I felt it too. I looked at all the tracks leading to and from the granite rocks, worn down over time and with use. At the top of the tor a family of Jackdaws were gleefully flying in and out, calling excitedly to each other, everywhere the spirits of the land and the ancient stones seemed to hum with vitality. This is my vision of the  spirit of Uruz.
