Description
‘Meiche’ is the name of this card in the Call of the Morrigan oracle and means Poison and self-destruction.
This image depicts the heart of Meiche, who was the son of The Morrigan as it boils and poisons the water in the cauldron. The tale goes that he was born with three snakes in his heart and as it was foretold that if the serpents were left alive to grow they would eventually destroy the whole of Ireland. So Mieche was sacrificed and his serpent heart throne onto the sacrificial fires.
This image is all about purging poisonous thoughts and self destructive voices in my heart. It reminds me to not let myself be destroyed from within. It helps me to envision taking out rotting bits of myself and throwing them onto the sacred flame before they can consume me.
