Description

This is my depiction of Jörð, the Norse goddess of nature and I have depicted her sitting at one of my favourite spots on the moor, at mid summer when nature is most potent and magical.

This painting embodies that perfect moment when you have been bimbling about exploring the moor, and sit down beside a cooling pool where dragons and bog fae hide in the rushes with the dragonflies and frogs.

You lift your head to catch the soothing breeze, the sun warms your back as you softly sink into the lush grass and moss. The air is alive with soft whispers of insects, the land smells of the day’s heat and the water is cool and deep.

The temperature is perfect, the sky a blue expanse, the bumbles buzz lazily about the foxgloves and the whole world seems to be filled with magick as you fall into Summer dreaming.

This summer goddess is tranquility in nature
