Oracle tin

I use an oracle tin to travel with or to take out with me on a nature hike. I use it to hold the oracle deck and natural offerings from the spirits of land, sea and sky. After meditating mid walk, I like to offer something back to the land and will leave a seed pod, or a little bundle of leaves and dried flower seed heads and maybe a feather, often bound with grass or a small twig found in the area I am sitting. I do not leave non native seeds or processed food as offerings so as not to inadvertently introduce anything which may detrimentally affect the immediate wildlife and ecosystems. Each tin has a little cockle shell to fill with water which I offer to the earth when I am ready to leave.

As I offer things with each sitting, I pick up replacement offerings to store in my tin until the next time. I often feel like a bit of a Jonny Appleseed as I plant acorns, Hazel nuts and flower seeds wherever I go now, and if I ever return to those spots in seasons to come I hope to find a little seedling popping its head up out of the ground, then I will give them a special drink from my cockle shell and plant some sisters and brothers to keep them company.

I found the tin perfect for this kind of travelling, as the tin holds the whole oracle deck and all the treasures of nature, keeping everything airtight and dry, something we must all consider living on the British Isles!
